The Believe Sorini Strong Foundation was founded in 2016 to carry on the passion and commitment Peter Sorini had for life by providing scholarships and support to the youth in the Butte and surrounding community.
Dr. Peter Sorini, a beloved and renowned neurosurgeon, ironically concluded his short life from a self-diagnosed Giloblastoma Brain Tumor. Through his great charisma and impeccable work ethic, Dr. Sorini was able to accomplish many feats in his life, prolong the lives of others, and has left a lasting impression on humanity. Dr. Sorini led by example, and was constantly in the pursuit of knowledge as he believed knowledge leads to opportunities. He also strongly believed in creating opportunities for others. Dr. Sorini was an extremely generous man and truley loved and cared about the well-being of others and understood the power and impact of giving.
The mission of the Believe Sorini Strong Foundation is to continue the pursuit of knowledge, assist in facilitating care for the sick, and enhance community. We will provide scholarship opportunities for deserving young men and women from the Butte and Anaconda communities in achieving a post-secondary school education. We award scholarships to help fill the financial need of students pursuing educational opportunities at universities, accredited colleges and technical institutions.
The Sorini25 was named after Dr.Peter Sorini in 2015. His family purchased the race in 2016. Dr. Sorini had been a part of the Butte 100 since the 1st year.
Since 2016 Believe Sorini Strong has given over $33,000 to students to further their education and have helped many families with their medical expenses.
